Vision 2010
Objectives
The Company formulated a mid-term objectives entitled "Vision 2010" in April 2006 calling for consolidated service revenues of ¥500 billion and operating income of ¥25 billion -that is, a 5% operating income ratio- to be attained by 2010, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Company.
Objectives of "Vision 2010" for the Company are to become a representative company in the land transportation industry by leveraging the Company's superior position as the number one company in third party logistics (3PL), and by clearly differentiating itself from competitors; and to aspire to acquiring the trust of customers and regional communities, and contribute to the creation of a prosperous society.
Focus Policies
Improving profitability by further strengthening 3PL business
- (1) The Company will further expand its business by strengthening its "Industry Platform Operations" and by developing new business models providing 3PL engineering service that combines functions such as transportation, installation, and setting of equipment through application of the Company's technology.
- (2) With the effective use of M&As including the restructuring of distribution subsidiaries, the Company will aim to expand its business scale and strengthen its business operating capabilities.
- (3) The Company will also develop Joint 3PL Business in alliances with its business partners.
- (4) The Company will make the most of its strength as a member of Hitachi Group through joint development of advanced logistics technologies.
Leaping to the next growth stage by accelerating global business
- (1) The Company will strengthen "Global 3PL Business", which provides comprehensive service from procurement to sales at the global level.
- (2) Simultaneous with expanding the business in focal areas like North America and China, the Company will aggressively advance into emerging areas including Eastern Europe and Asia.
- (3) In North America, the Company will further strengthen its Border Logistics Business.
- (4) The Company will boost its capabilities as a cargo aggregator and strengthen its Air Cargo Forwarding Business including cargo shipped from or to Japan and cross-transport cargo.
Emphasizing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and working to enhance company value
- (1) The Company will work for Energy-Efficient Logistics by promoting its Platform Operations and modal shift, introducing low-emission vehicles and installing digital tachographs, so that we can reduce CO2 emissions to better protect the environment.
- (2) We will strive to enhance safety education and personal training with a view to the next generation.
- (3) The Company will implement compliance, establish a solid foundation for information security, and create internal control systems, while strengthening its management administration structure.
- (4) We will improve on management benchmarks such as ROE and take measures to enhance our shareholder value.
