Modal Shift of Hitachi Transport System
Hitachi Transport System has expanded its business scale with a focus on third party logistics (3PL) services, which provides comprehensive logistics services to customers. Currently, over 60% of our sales are from companies outside of the Hitachi group.
We are implementing modal shift to energy-conserving rail and ocean transportation with lower pollution that excel at mass transport from trucks which offer mobility. By proficiently combining these modes of transport with conventional trucking, we hope to improve transport efficiency and cut logistics costs while reducing carbon dioxide emissions and easing traffic congestion.
We strive to become the go-to company for shippers by further streamlining logistics operations through expanding our 3PL services, promoting eco-driving with idling stop campaign, and actively adopting low-pollution, fuel-efficient automobiles such as hybrid trucks, in addition to modal shift.
