Corporate Citizenship Activities
Hitachi Transport System Magokoro Fund Program
The Magokoro Fund is a matching gift program established in April 2008. Members consist of Hitachi Transport System board members and employees who support the cause.
The matching gift program is a fund-raising activity in which the company unites with its employees to support their philanthropy. Members contribute 100 yen from their monthly salaries, and the company matches these donations. Monetary and material donations are made to support the following three genres: traffic safety/prevention of traffic accidents, environmental regeneration/environmental preservation, and community contribution/social welfare.
- Activities in 2008
- Traffic Safety/Prevention of Traffic Accidents: Donated “New Traffic Safety Picture-Story Cards” to 6 organizations nationwide
- Environmental Regeneration/Environmental Preservation: Supported “Children’s Forest Program” organized by OISCA-International
- Community Contribution/Social Welfare: Donated wheelchairs to 6 communities nationwide

Hitachi Transport System Traffic Safety Classes
- We offer classes on traffic safety at a facility owned by Hitachi Transport System in Matsudo, Chiba. Targeted towards elementary school students from the vicinity, these classes are held to protect children from tragic traffic accidents and convey the value of life.
- 2008 Curriculum (Experiencing truck blind spots, demonstration experiment for difference between track followed by inner wheels, demonstration experiment for braking distance)
- May 13 Fourth grade students from Matsudo Negiuchi Elementary School
- May 21 Second grade students from Matsudo Kainohana Elementary School
- June 2 Third Grade students from Matsudo Hachiga Saki Second Elementary School

- We provide workplace experience and internships in order to promote understanding of etiquette and manners, and cultivate responsibility and independence through work experience in the real world.

Community Contribution Activities
As members of the communities, the Hitachi Transport System Group places an importance on communication to vitalize the local community.
Hitachi Transport System Futsal Tournament
- The Hitachi Transport System Futsal Tournament is held at a futsal court on the property of our distribution center in Noda, Chiba, in hopes that through sports, the participants will grow as individuals and learn about joy, hardships, and teamwork.

Social Welfare
The Hitachi Transport System Group engages in social welfare activities as well as supporting disaster victims and devastated regions.
Blood Donation
In cooperation with the Japan Red Cross, we periodically provide employees at each office and in China with the opportunity to donate blood.
Support for Disaster Victims
We donated funds through the Japan Red Cross to support victims in areas afflicted by disasters that occurred in 2008.
- We donated the fund to the victim of the Sichuan Earthquake of China that had been generated in May, 2008.
*Joint donations were also made by labor and management. - We donated the fund to the victim of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar that had been generated in May, 2008.
Employee Volunteer Activities
Clean-up Activities for Areas Surrounding Offices
- As members of the communities, our head office, all of our offices throughout Japan, and our group companies periodically conduct clean-up activities for the areas surrounding our offices.
We also participate in clean-up activities for areas surrounding nearby stations as well as activities held by other community organizations. -

Collecting Activities
As a social welfare activity that is accessible and easy to participate in, our head office and group companies engage in various collection activities and donate to NPOs/NGOs.
Collected Items: Used stamps, used pre-paid cards, miswritten postcards, etc.
