Expansion of controlled-temperature transport services for Cell cultures used in regenerative medicine
Hitachi Transport System Ltd. is attempting to expand its controlled temperature transport services that transports cell cultures used in regenerative medicine, a field many refer as the most progressive in the medical arena. In conjunction with Hitachi, Ltd., we have developed a mobile controlled-temperature container and have begun long-distance ground transportation of these cell cultures. In addition to our current ground transportation services catering for research institutions in Kanto area, we are also considering offering air transportations to Kyushu. In order to prevent any pressure change that might affect the cells during air transportation, we have developed a small super-insulated container, which is currently undergoing test transportations.

Device to prevent falling asleep at the wheel
Hitachi Transport System, Ltd., together with Hitachi, Ltd., is cooperating with Shizuoka University and Keio University, to research a device to prevent falling asleep at the wheel.
For the case with Shizuoka University, we are researching the device structure to detect sleepiness from the movement and direction of eyes. We install the devices in our large trucks used for operations and test them for practical use.
